Reviews
While I agree with some of the reviewers that the images in this text could be of a higher quality, I do not think that this detracts from the scholarly value of this catalogue raisonne. The images are fine, and are of a high enough quality to make this text valuable for images that are hard to find online, particularly for those in European collections that have yet to digitize their holdings. For those who are studying Bruegel, Sellink remains an essential source and a seminal scholar. If you are looking for credible reviews of this text, look at the peer reviews published in scholarly journals, not on amazon. Sellink's attributions include recent scholarship related to the Fall of Icarus as well as newly attributed paintings. I would also recommend Larry Silver's Bruegel catalogue raisonne as a companion to this one; it is arranged thematically and includes more formal analysis. Sellink's text is excellently priced on Amazon. I was able to purchase a new copy for less than I would have paid for a used copy elsewhere.
